The Different Types of Organic Certification

“100 Percent Organic” means, predictably, that the product is 100% organic. This is usually reserved for natural or raw products that haven’t been altered in production.

“Organic” means the product contains at least 95% organic ingredients. This leaves a little wiggle room for products to include some non-organic ingredients.

“Made With Organic (list up to three items)” means the product contains at least 70% organic ingredients. These products can’t display the USDA organic seal.

Products with less than 70% organic materials aren’t allowed to call themselves organic or use the USDA seal. But they are allowed to list specific items in their ingredient list as organic.
